"Patsi has been a volunteer nanny with Helping Hands at Tamba since April 2013. This year, Patsi has supported 6 families, some for the first time and others following on from previous months and even years of support. Patsi has helped families with language barriers and religious considerations, as well as specific medical needs, tailoring her support to each family she meets. She has provided practical support and advice with feeding and weaning, sleeping, behaviour, establishing routines, and getting out of the house. In addition to this she has also provided emotional support for many of the families she has visited. Her help has enabled parents to feel more confident and less anxious about caring for their children. Patsi always goes above and beyond, providing support to families long after they first experience crisis, and doing all she can to help them."

"Patsi was recommended to us prior to having twins but if I am honest I did not think we would need this type of support. This assumption changed quite quickly when the babies arrived! I thought I would struggle to sleep the first night Patsi looked after the twins but her calm nature and professionalism put me immediate at ease and allowed me to switch off. Patsi comes to us one night a week which allows us to get a good night’s sleep. She supported my wishes to breastfeed and we agreed a routine that allowed this to happen. She has a wealth of experience and knowledge with twins which we have drawn on to help establish a good day and night routine. It has been invaluable to myself and my husband and in fact all our family. Our 4 year old daughter found the arrival of her sister and brother challenging to say the least. But again, with Patsi’s guidance, kindness and patience we have coped (or survived) during this new chapter in our lives. We cannot thank her enough and would highly recommend her."

"Patsi started working as night nanny to me and my twins when they were 4 weeks old. The first night it felt strange letting someone else look after my babies but Patsi has such warmth and experience that I saw very quickly that my twins would be in great hands. She helped me with breastfeeding, establishing a routine and as a first-time mum, with lots of questions and doubts, I found her to be very patient, knowledgeable, understanding and supportive of me too. Patsi stayed with me until they were 4 months old and in the end it was me that needed to be weaned off her, such a support was she!"

"Patsi started the night the twins came home as maternity nurse and completely nurtured them over the next few weeks, allowing me to heal and rest from the trauma of a caesarean. She then moved into the role of night nanny and helped us set up a day and night routine allowing the girls to easily slip into good sleep and feeding patterns. Having Patsi at night meant everyone had a good night’s sleep ready and energetic for the daytime shifts. I am glad we had her and would highly recommend her to families with multiple children as she is patient and very experienced and makes those initial daunting weeks and months a beautiful, smooth transition allowing you to enjoy your babies."
